  • Our client, a Non-profit Organisation (NGO), had been tasked by their leadership team and shareholders to ensure that they are appropriately remunerating their employees, ensuring that they retain and attract top talent into the Organisation.
  • They have participated in Compensation and Benefits surveys in the past, however, have found it difficult to acquire credible and robust market data across Africa and particularly in the NGO sector.

Solution

  • We worked closely with the client to design a bespoke and customized survey to their exact needs, highlighting the nuances of compensation and benefits that are often unique in each country across the continent.
  • A customised data collection tool was created to collect all data from multiple clients, ensuring a like-for-like comparison when aggregating the data.

Impact

  • APAG was able to provide an in-depth, detailed analysis of the clients’ internal employee data vs. the market data that was acquired through the bespoke survey thereby providing a clear view of their current internal equity and their external competitiveness.
  • A comprehensive plan and budget were calculated to align any employees that were below the target position over a period to ensure affordability.
  • The client was then able to confidently report back to the leadership team on their internal compensation compared to their peers, highlighting areas of improvement to ensure that they retain and attract top talent.
