This year, we are stress-testing the Employee Experience (EX) model for Africa that we created in 2023. At Africa People Advisory Group (APAG), we are driven by a desire to continuously improve and innovate. This ambition led to the inception of the “New Ways of Working” insight study in 2021. Now, three years later, the objective of unlocking business growth through people insights remains as relevant as ever.
In 2023, we aimed to pivot our focus slightly. While understanding “New Ways of Working” continues to be vital, a broader concept has gained prominence: Employee Experience (EX).
Our definition of EX encompasses the totality of interactions, perceptions, and feelings an employee experiences throughout their journey within an organisation. This includes aspects such as organisational culture, physical environment, technological tools, and the diverse touchpoints across the employee lifecycle, from recruitment to exit. Significantly, this experience can profoundly impact engagement, productivity, and retention.
